In memorium: My cat Q
I’ve had a very sad week. My cat, Q, had been having breathing difficulties for the past month and we had been to the vet at least 5 times with each treatment failing to get a response. The vet thought he had a severe upper respiratory infection and we had him on all kinds of antibiotics and steroids. His breathing became so labored that on Wednesday evening we took him to the emergency vet hospital and had him in an oxygen tent all night. The next day (yesterday) we took him to a specialist to get a scope done of his throat and found out that he had cancer of the larynx. This type of cancer is fast growing and untreatable. Apparently white cats are genetically predisposed for this and there would have been nothing we could have done to prevent it. I wish we had known sooner and he wouldn’t have suffered so much at the end.
At the specialist, my family gathered around and held Q while he was euthanized. We adopted him from the shelter when he was 3 weeks old and he would have been 16 next month. He was the most loving and sweet cat I have ever had.

I’m so sorry to hear about your cat. We had a white cat that looked very similar to yours about six years ago, he was the most special cat we’ve ever had. He got feline AIDS – can you believe that! And we ended up having to put him to sleep because he was so sick. It was the hardest thing I had ever done to say goodbye to him. We cried for days. I feel your pain.
Oh, I’m so sorry about the loss of your family member. 🙁 Deaths of pets are always so very hard.

So sad to hear about this. There is nothing sweeter than a kitty. We have 3 and I can not fathom losing any of them. Be kind to yourself during this time. He was a beautiful cat.

So sorry for your loss. We have a “snowball” kitty who adopted us as a homeless half dead kitten, so I am partial to white cats. Q is waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge……Hugs and my sympathy, it is a loss of a family member even a furry one.

I am so sorry at the loss of your friend. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to go through,,,they have unconditional love…and you have wonderful memories…
My thoughts are with you. Can’t explain it, but losing a pet that has been a part of you for so long is like losing a child that stayed a baby forever.
