Cookie Monster
I needed a quick and easy birthday card for a toddler and this particular toddler likes Cookie Monster so first I needed a picture of the real deal. I found this one and based my card on it,
I created this with my Big Shot and the Bigz Scallop Circle Die:
Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot, Bigz Scallop Circle Die, 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1-3/8″ Circle Punch, Circle Scissor Plus, Glass Mat
Directions:
1. The base piece is 9″ x 5″. Fold it in half and line up the fold line slightly lower than the top of the edge of the scallop die. This way you’ll create a hinge at the top and your Cookie Monster will open up like a regular card.
2. Punch out the eyeballs with the circle punches. For an authentic look, make sure his eyes are at the very top of his head and place the pupils to give the appearance of being googly-eyed.
3. For the mouth I used the Circle Scissor Plus and set it at 3-1/2″. Cut off appx. 1/4th of the top of the circle — Cookie has a big mouth.
4. I cut a 3-3/4″ circle in Whisper White and attached it to the inside.
So you can see the size of this card, here it is next to our regular scallop punch:
So what do ya think? Look close enough to the real deal? Will it pass toddler inspection? I hope so…it would be a real downer if I heard, “that NOT Cookie Monster!!” from my littlest friend.
